Review- Daddy's Home 2 (2017)

After the events of the first film, Brad (Will Ferrell) and Dusty (Mark Wahlberg) decide to have a "together Christmas" with their fathers, Don (Jon Lithgow) and Kurt (Mel Gibson). Dusty wants to get along with his step-daughter and he keeps getting criticized by his father Kurt while trying to handle co-parenting in a proper way. Dusty and Brad somehow convince themselves that they are best friends but eventually end up at each other's throats before the end of the film.

The first film was alright and I'm a huge fan of Mark Wahlberg but this sequel failed in more ways than one. His chemistry co-star Will Ferrell is fantastic but it wasn't as hilarious as they were aiming for it to be. It had the potential to be funnier but the plot was too thin and empty. It lacked humor and had bad jokes and dialogues that made the film boring. The first film wasn't fantastic either, but it was way better than this. Most of the funny parts were included in the trailer. These actors are amazing but even their acting couldn't bring life to the plot. It's a very silly film that'll make you roll your eyes at least five times before the credits roll. Jon Lithgow's character was probably the most annoying followed by Gibson's -wannabe toxic masculinity- character. The film ends with a cringe worthy musical version of "Do They Know Its Christmas?. Daddy's Home 2 had a few highs that would make you chuckle for about a second but it lacked greatly in its plot which made it less entertaining than the first. Except you're extremely bored, I'll advise you to skip Daddy's Home 2.
