The Blacklist Season Five Premiere- "Smokey Putnum"

So much went down at the end of the fourth season of The Blacklist including the fact that we now know for sure that Reddington is Liz's father. It was also revealed that Mr. Kaplan was Liz's Nanny when she was a child and she swore to her mother that she was going to protect Liz with her life, and she did. Mr. Kaplan waged a war against Red after he shot her and left her for dead when she helped Liz fake her death. Mr. Kaplan had one last stand off with Red but instead of getting arrested, she jumped off a bridge so she is presumably dead. In "Smokey Putnum", Reddington doesn't seem bothered about the fact that his empire was up in flames and the fact that he's broke. But we know how he is, he's very clever and he always has a plan. It was fun watching Liz and Red work together again as a father and daughter duo and the tension between them isn't as much since she found out about his identity as her father.

She agrees to help him rebuild his empire in order to bring more blackliststers to the FBI. Two things that made me really excited about this season of The Blacklist was the fact that the whole father/daughter secret was finally out in the open. It was dragged on for so long and it would have been a shame if they brought it along this season. I'm also really excited about the fact that Tom Keen is back! He's in possession of a suitcase filled with bones and I'm itching to find out more about those bones. He wanted to tell Liz about the suitcase but changed his mind when she says Reddington is her father. This is a bad move Tom because at the end of the day, Liz is still going to find out. Why not just tell her now and save yourself the stress? The final scene contained a flash forward of Reddington shooting Tom and I got a bit confused. I really don't want to believe that they'll kill Tom because he's a very important part of Liz's life but you can never tell with the writers of this show. I'm a huge fan of Tom so I'm really hoping Reddington just shot his legs and not any other important part of his body.
Agent Ressler has also gotten himself into something really messy with Prescott, the cleaner he called for help. Ressler is the type that doesn't like breaking rules but I can see him doing a lot of that in the future for Prescott. "Smokey Putnum" was a good way to start the fifth season, it was not too dark and it set the tone for what we should expect in the coming episodes.
And aren't we all glad Samar and Aram are finally dating?! They look so good together!
