WARNING!! MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Okay guys! I'm still in shock from watching that finale and still struggling to accept what happened. At the end of the fourth season of NBC's The Blacklist, Reddington lost his resources and his relationship with Liz was finally revealed. This season, there was a little bit of tension between the father in-law & son in-law duo, Red & Tom as the latter tried to find out the truth about a suitcase of bones handed over to him by Mr. Kaplan. They both have a very weird relationship which panned out throughout the episode. Tom gets shot, Reddington tends to his gunshot wound, Tom goes off with the suitcase and Red tries to find him, again. Even with the flashbacks, I didn't expect Tom to be gone this soon. For some reason, I felt he was immortal because he has been able to get himself out of the worst situations. In this episode alone, he survived a gun shot to his shoulder before giving up in the hospital after being stabbed multiple times by Ian Garvey. Who is this guy?
I missed Tom on The Blacklist after he left to be with family in The Blacklist: Redemption and I was so glad that he returned to the show only to have him gone again, for real this time. There's also a 10 months time jump and Liz was in a coma for that period of time. You could literally feel Red's happiness when she woke up.

After Red tells her about Tom's death, the episode ends with her in tears as he tries to comfort her. The fact that they showed Tom in the morgue cleared out every doubt about his death. If they didn't do that, I would think was alive somewhere. Ryan Eggold was at his best in this episode and you can't deny the fact that he's a phenomenal actor. The writers are simply trying to play out the mystery of the bone filled suitcase and I'm honestly going to be pissed if the reveal isn't as good as the expression on Tom's face when he looked at the DNA results. Tom would have easily told Liz what he found in the DNA results while they were on the phone but no, they had to meet at the house. Now that Tom is out of the picture, Reddington has no reason to tell Liz about the bones. The lies told by Red are honestly becoming a bit tiring because it's affecting the characters and their relationships in terrible ways. Now that Tom is dead, maybe they'll have a few changes which will be better for the show. I'm going to really miss Ryan Eggold's character and I'll be looking out for the actor in the future. When the show returns, we'll find out how his death will impact Liz and if she'll be able to get over the tragedy. Ian Garvey is obviously going to be a real problem for Reddington and I can wait to see how it plays out. The Blacklist returns in January 2018.
