Watched the movie on the second Friday (01-Aug-2014). It's been a while since I watched a Bollywood movie on the big screen. I was a bit apprehensive as this is the directorial debut of producer Sajid Nadiadwala.The movie is about a prodigiously talented guy (Salman bhai) who does things to get a 'kick' and how he finds his ultimate kick out of life.
The production quality is good. Some of the dialogues are good and the music is okay. There's been too many films from Salman with a similar theme now. Salman comes and does his usual antics... the comical laugh... the Latka/Jhatkas and action sequences and then a story is weaved around it.
The movie lacks a hit item number and Jacqueline has not been properly exploited (in a good way), to bring out her best. Even her 'item' dance is a bit forced in one of the songs. Overall, it was an okay one-time watch. For me, Akshay has now taken over the mantle of top masala entertainer with good movies like Khiladi420, Boss and Rowdy Rathore. Generous 7/10 for Kick.
