Game of Thrones Season Seven Episode 1 Review: Dragonstone

After so many months of waiting, the seventh season of HBO's Game of Thrones premiered last night, July 16. Personally, I've been anticipating the return of this show and I couldn't be more excited to see The Lannister's, Starks, White Walkers and The Mother of Dragons back on my screen. So as we all know, Winter is finally here. Since the first season, most of what the characters talked about was the arrival of winter. The last season set in motion the activities that took place in the premiere. The opening scene, which included Arya murdering those involved in The Red Wedding, was very very shocking and satisfying to watch. It's obvious that Arya is out for blood and back on her kill list. She looked really bad ass walking away from the bodies.

Jon Snow is now the King of The North with Sansa by his side, Bran is now The Three Eyed Raven and Sam works in a Library at The Citadel. Sam has not been one of my favorite characters but he might be a part of something big soon. That creepy hand in a cell already confirms it. I kind of feel bad for Jamie because it seems like he doesn't agree with what his sister is doing. This is definitely going to be a problem in the near future.
Euron Greyjoy, who killed his brother and took over The Iron Islands last season really seems like a crazy person. He has no remorse whatsoever killing his brother. His scene really cracked me up and I think he'll make a perfect team with Cersei.

Brienne and Tormund Giantsbane might have a sort of relationship soon but how does this benefit any of the characters? I guess we'll find out soon. I'm happy with the fact that The Hound didn't actually die and I'm really curious to see where his story line leads us. Did we catch that Ed Sheeran cameo? Amazing right? I thought we would see more of Daenerys since the episode is named "Dragon Stone" but it was not so. She, her entourage and her Dragons have finally crossed the Narrow Sea to the ancestral home of The Targaryan's. The episode ended with her saying "Can we begin?" and we know what she means by that right? There are few questions that need to be answered this season. What is Little Finger up to? Will Cersei murder more people? Will Bran get to Jon and Sansa? Game of Throne's will come to an end after the eight season and there are discussions for a possible spinoff. A new episode airs on Sunday, July 23.
