The Catch: Season Two Finale-"The Mockingbird"

The Catch ended on Thursday night with a lot of loose ends which won't be tied up because the show has been cancelled by ABC. The episode began with Margot's meeting with Tommy a.k.a Mockingbird to discuss a deal. She has to return his drugs and join his payroll or die. She's given 24 hours to make a decision and as soon as he leaves she finds out through a phone call from Rhys that Tessa had been kidnapped by Felicity. Felicity calls and asks for Rhys, Margot and Ben to trade Tessa. They all meet with her henchmen to get Tessa but Alice finds out that Tessa has been in cahoots with Felicity all along. Before Alice is able to do anything, Rhys, Margot and Ben are taken away by Felicity's men. Alice seeks help from Ethan and Justine who only agrees to help and take down Margot in the process. They find out Tommy was Mockingbird when they stage a meeting with Carol. Back at AVI, Justin admits that he had been posing as Mockingbird for a friend and agrees to set up a meeting with Felicity. Felicity tries to kill Margot, Rhys and Ben but Tessa turns the gun on her.

Ben tells Tessa and Felicity to run before the cops arrive while Rhys contemplates shooting Felicity. Before he makes a decision, Felicity shoots him in the shoulder. The FBI arrive just in time to take her away in handcuffs but that only means Alice and Ben have to find the real Mockingbird. They find out that it's no other person but Rhys. Justine can't take down Rhys alone, she would also need to put Margot and Tessa away. They all go to Alice's apartment to arrest Margot and Tessa but find no one while Ben slips away with them in a car. They go to the airport and thanks to Danny and Ethan, there's a plane waiting to take them away. Ben places a call to Rhys and tells him he's going to take him down. He wants to leave with Alice but she tells him to go with Tessa and Margot. They promise each other that they'll find a way to figure everything out, he hops on the plane and waves goodbye to Alice. This is what I think, The Catch wasn't a fantastic show, but it was fun to watch. They might have missed the mark with this second season but I feel ABC would have at least given them one last season.

I really didn't get the whole Danny and Margot love story, it was just unnecessary and it felt really weird. I was a bit shocked when I found out Rhys was Mockingbird. Thought he had turned over a new leaf completely, but he hadn't. Either ways, he was my favorite character on the show, good or evil. The whole story line with Justine and her husband wasn't a smart idea. A lot of sub plots were not necessary this season, And what happened to Reggie from the first season? The Catch is one show that is totally different from any Shondaland show, it's sexy, fun and not as dark as the other shows but I can't say I wasn't expecting the cancellation, just not this soon. We'll never know what happens to Alice and Ben, Tessa and Margot, Margot and Danny, Danny and Sophia, Tommy, Ben, Rhys and Justine. Goodbye to The Catch, I know I'll definitely miss watching.
