I know I'm a few weeks late but I just saw Fifty Shades Darker. I'm a huge fan of the Fifty Shades Trilogy and I was really excited to see the second installment, Fifty Shades Darker. I feel like the movies are for those who read the books, even though the books were way better, I don't think I would have enjoyed the movie that much if I didn't read the books. The first movie ended with Ana breaking up with Christian and 15 minutes into Fifty Shades Darker, she gets back with him. Ana's boss at the Publishing Firm, Jack Hyde (Eric Johnson) tries to get his way with Ana and Christian gets him fired. Elena/Mrs Robinson (Kim Basinger) tells Ana that Christian is not the one for her, but Ana angrily tells her that he has turned over a new leaf. The funniest part about this movie which they totally got wrong was the helicopter scene. It was so obvious that they were in a green room. I laughed so hard after watching that scene. Couldn't they have made it look better than that? Christian is still having nightmares from his childhood and Leila, one of his subs starts stalking Ana. She tries to shoot Ana but Christian is able to get her to give him the gun by simply saying a few words, she kneels before him. This creeps Ana out and she runs out of her house. Leila looked like she was picked out of a horror movie.

Christian proposes to Ana and she accepts to the delight of everyone, especially Christian's mother. As the credits roll, there's a snippet of the next movie Fifty Shades Freed. Fifty Shades Darker got so many bad reviews, and even though it was a box office success, I still haven't seen any good reviews. It wasn't a fantastic movie but it was okay. Maybe if they didn't stick to every single word used in the book, they would have had better dialogues. I wasn't excited about Jamie Dornan playing Christian Grey but I'm starting to get used to him but I would have still preferred Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam. Dakota Johnson is so perfect as Ana, I can't even imagine someone else in that role. The movie ends with Jack burning a cigarette into Christian's face on a picture. Maybe In the next movie, they should consider people that didn't read the book instead of having a narrow mind about their audience. It's important to have read the book to fully enjoy and understand this movie. In the books, the characters got away with so many things especially the dialogue but it would have been a bit different with the movie. Nevertheless, I enjoyed Fifty Shades Darker and I'm looking forward to Fifty Shades Freed which comes out February 2018.
