After the cross over episode "Fake", I knew for sure Chicago Justice was going to easily become one of my favorites. It has definitely won me over again with this new episode "Uncertainty Principle". One of our favorites from the Chicago PD's Intelligence Unit, Kevin Atwater is arrested and charged with the death of a young man he arrested. This is obviously a huge conflict for Antonio who finds it hard questioning Atwater and arresting him. He's still extremely loyal to his former work family and seeing Atwater in trouble doesn't sit well with him. It was obvious Atwater was innocent, he's such a good person and would never do anything to hurt anyone intentionally. If it was Voight, then I'll probably question the whole situation because Voight sometimes encourages the use of violence as a means to an end. He even tells Antonio that if Atwater killed Justin, then he deserved to die.
ANTONIO: "What if.."
VOIGHT: "What if Kev killed him?"
ANTONIO: "Yeah"
VOIGHT: If Kev killed that son of a bitch. that son of a bitch needed killing."

Kevin is in a tough spot, he feels like he betrayed his people and isn't sure if the way he arrested the victim led to his death. He is represented by Paul Robinette (Richard Brooks) and he os able to get a plea deal for Atwater and at this point, I felt Kevin was going to prison or they would probably continue on Chicago PD but Antonio came to his rescue. He finds out that the victims cell mate, Adrian Carrera left part of the story out. He unintentionally killed Justin Wilkes because he refused to give him a cigar. Atwater is set free and Stone apologizes to him in court. It was refreshing seeing some of the faces I loved from PD like Platt, Burguss and Voight. I don't think i'll ever get tired of seeing them. If this is how most of Justice's episodes are going to be, I don't think it's a bad idea. It's obvious that Antonio and Stone are probably going to have more issues in the future, especially when it has to do with the Intelligence Unit. Stone is just like Antonio from what I've seen in the last two episodes, he's a straight shooter and doesn't like to break the rules.

Antonio definitely has to decide where his loyalty lies, he's no longer with the Intelligence Unit and now with the State Attorney's office, but his loyalty to the Intelligence Unit will probably never die. I didn't watch Law and Order but I can still understand Chicago Justice, so even with the similarities and connections, it's still easy to connect the dots. Through out this episode, the issue of racism was addressed. An African American cop is accused of using excessive force on another African American, this is a very interesting direction because most shows would go with the White Cop shooting an African American.

The basketball scene with Antonio and Atwater was one of the best scenes. It was so raw and you could see how bad Kevin felt about the whole situation. He was no longer on the same side with Antonio. I'll love to see more of Paul Robinette because he seems to be the only one who has a personal relationship with Stone. There's definitely more to see concerning Stone's relationship with his father and I can't wait to see how it plays out. This was a good episode for a premiere and I look forward to more from Chicago Justice. If you love legal drama's like me, then add Chicago Justice to your list.
