I was super hyped to see Wonder Woman after seeing the promotional photos and the trailer, but after 2 hours and 21 minutes of sitting through it in the theater, I'm not convinced it's as superb as a lot of people say it is. Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman is more of an origin story of Princess Diana, daughter of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons. In the beginning of the film, Diana who's currently working at the Louvre in Paris gets a message from Wayne Enterprises of a picture of her, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) and three of their friends after they saved a village from the Germans during the First World War. She recalls her past and how she was born and raised in Themyscira, home to the Amazons, a race of female warriors who were created to protect humans against the corruption of Ares, the God of war. Diana meets Steve, an Allied spy and together they leave Themyscira to help stop the war.

Wonder Woman is as clich� and cheesy as any superhero film, maybe more. I tried so hard to love this movie but there was something that wasn't right with it. I'm still trying to understand how some people say it's one of the best superhero films yet. In my opinion, DC hasn't really gotten it with their movies. Suicide Squad is still one of their best films and saying Wonder Woman is the best superhero movie ever is just unnecessary. It can't even be compared to the Marvel movies. Gal Gadot was a good pick for Wonder Woman and I was happy to see Chris Pine as the male lead but I'm not sure he was the best actor for the role. The supporting characters were as bad as the script, they didn't do anything to make the movie better. There's also little or no character development with bland and very clich� dialogues that will definitely make you roll your eyes to the back of your head. The CGI was good but there were a few scenes with Gal Gadot that looked a bit weird. She came out of some action scenes looking all flawless, at least get one scratch. It's not like you're Superman that's bulletproof, you're still almost human. I'm still not sure of her powers, does she fly like superman or just jumps long distances? This movie would have also helped with a super evil antagonist but even the villains here didn't seem so threatening or scary.

There were so many things that were questionable about this movie and so many plot holes. The Nazi Germans didn't even look as evil as they were supposed to and then some of the Germans had British or America accents.
Nothing was as terrible as the end of the movie which really sucked and didn't make much sense. Why would Steve Trevor take the decision to blow up himself with the plane? If the plane was filled with explosives why not just shoot at it till it explodes or shoot the tires so it won't be able to fly? It felt like this scene only took place to make Wonder Woman angry enough to beat Ares. I liked the fact that Jenkins was able to add a bit of humor in the dialogue but I actually wish I didn't see this in a movie theater because it isn't worth the hype. The plot would have been good in the comic book, but not so good on the big screen. Maybe it would have made more sense if they changed or added a few things. Don't get me wrong, Wonder Woman is a good movie, but not the type that would keep you on the edge of your seat.
