Billions: Season Two Finale-"Ball In Hand"

I had been seriously anticipating the finale of Billions because I knew it was going to be off the chains! This season wasn't really as crazy as last season, but it was just as good or maybe even better. The last episode was amazing and "Hand In Ball" was a great follow up to such an intense episode. The episode follows a time frame from 5am when Bobby finds out about his arrest to 4pm when he gets arrested. Bobby gets a surprise visit from Boyd who tells him that he's going to be arrested before the end of the day. We found out at the end of the last episode that Chuck set everything in motion and even lost more than 20 million dollars from his life savings just to make sure Bobby gets arrested. He knew Bobby was going to come for him once he got involved in Ice Juice and he was right. Chuck meets with Dake at a church to discuss how the arrest and prosecution will play out and off course Dake wants Bobby to have nothing to do with the case but Bobby knew Dake would come running back for help sooner or later.

Axe knows for sure that he's going to get arrested and he has to get his affairs in order before Dake finds him. He discusses the next step with Wags and makes Taylor the Chief Investment Officer. He asks Taylor to find ways to liquidate some of their investments. Taylor doesn't ask questions, he does exactly as he's told. Chuck Sr. and Ira are pissed at Chuck for his involvement in the Ice Juice stock crashing and how he used them to get Bobby arrested. Chuck Sr. basically disowned his son saying he wants nothing to do with him. Lara lets Bobby know that she won't be running away with him and she starts questioning whether she should get a divorce so she won't face any heat from the FBI. For the first time in forever, Lara's finally looking out for herself. We've never seen this side of Lara before. I'm only hoping she plays a bigger and more important role next season. I kept wondering if Bobby will find a way out of this like he usually does, but as the episode came to an end, it became evident that the evil Dake was definitely going to arrest him. I really felt bad for Bobby especially when he tells his sons about his dilemma. Even with the intensity of the situation, Bobby is still able to mislead the FBI into thinking he was going to be at his house. They storm into his house and turn it upside down but find nothing. This sends Dake back to Chuck who tells him to track Wendy's phone to locate Bobby. Bobby is finally arrested after hugging Wendy with Chuck watching from a distance. It's clear to him that the both of them have some sort of emotional connection.

Just like last season's finale, Chuck and Bobby have a final face to face in the prison cell and I could just see that satisfaction in Chucks face. But Bobby still wouldn't let that bring him down, he swore to Chuck that he would find something that would connect him to the case and I know Bobby will. This stunt is definitely going to affect Chuck personally in the next season because he burnt a lot of bridges just to get Bobby arrested. Axe gets released on bail and Chuck goes home to Wendy. I honestly think Damian Lewis deserves an Emmy for his role as Bobby Axelrod. He's seriously killing it and I don't think any other person could play this role better than him. I think the finale was way better than last season's.

Although it's fun to watch, I'm hoping Chuck and Bobby's feud doesn't go on after the next season because a lot of viewers might get tired. There's a lot of questions popping into my head after this finale. What's going to happen next? Will Chuck become governor? Will Bobby go back to jail? How will Chuck face Wendy after what he knows? He's definitely not going to let it go. We'll find out in the next season which will be out in 2018.
