It's award season guys and the Oscar nominations just came in! La La Land leads the pack with a total of 14 nominations including best picture and best director. Moonlight has 8 nominations including best picture and best director. Arrival ties with Moonlight with 8 nominations including sound, cinematography and production design. Lion and Hacksaw ridge both have 6 nominations with Mel Gibson nominated in the Best Director category. The biggest Oscar snubs incudes Amy Adams in Arrival, Taraji P. Henson in Hidden Figures, Tom Hanks for Sully and Clint Eastwood as the director. Birth Of A Nation directed by Nate Parker also deserved to be nominated. After the #OscarsSoWhite trend last year, the Academy nominated 6 black actors which I only hope would increase next year with more African Americans and Latinos.
