1. THE CEO
With Kunle Afolayan directing, I expected nothing short of perfection. The CEO which premiered at the Eko Hotels and Suites is about five top level members of a company who are selected for a retreat where the new CEO of global company would be selected. They all try to out do one another for the position and start dying one after the other. The plot had twists and the mystery left the viewer with so many questions. The cast delivered strong performances and the visuals were top notch.
2. THE WEDDING PARTY Starring Banky Wellington and Adesua Etomi, The Wedding Party tells the story of a couple trying to have the perfect wedding amidst family drama, unwanted guests and a wedding planner who was trying her best to get everything under control. The Wedding Party broke box office records after grossing 21.5 million Naira on its first day of release and 36 million Naira in its opening weekend. Come award season, I have no doubt that it will bag a lot of awards.
3.76'
Set in 1976, this historical fiction is about a soldier accused of being part of the coup plotters that assassinated former Head of State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria General Murtala Muhammed. His wife successfully proves his innocence and his life is spared. Directed by Izu Ojukwu (White Waters, Sitanda ) was a very memorable one for me because of the amazing visuals and costumes. The cast which included Ramsey Noah, Rita Dominic and Chidi Mokeme all carried their roles incredibly.

4. FIFTY
This movie follows the lives of four friends, Tola, Elizabeth, Maria and Kate juggling between their careers and personal lives. Kate is battling a life threatening illness, Maria is having an affair with a married man, Elizabeth's love for younger men messes her relationship with her daughter and Tola is a reality TV star whose marriage is on the rocks. Fifty did extremely well in the box office in Nigeria after premiering at the London Film Festival. The visuals were incredible and the cast did an amazing job.
5. IT'S HER DAY
Written by popular comedian Bovi, this comedy film is about two families from totally different backgrounds come together for a wedding. It would have done better with the visuals but it was one of my best Nollywood comedies. With an amazing cast, it had me laughing from the beginning to the end.
