The movie is about a small mining town, Rose Creek which is pressured by a corrupt and dangerous man to sell their land at a very little price. The film opens with Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard) invading the church with his men and killing a few of the locals including Matthew Cullen (Matt Bomer).
Teddy (Luke Grimes), Emma Cullen (Haley Bennett) and Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington)
His wife Emma Cullen (Hayley Bennett) later comes across Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington) at another town taking out a group of men by himself. She asks him for help which he initially turned down but accepted after hearing Bogue's name. Chisolm set out to put together a team of seven men and together they train the locals and help the town take down Bogue and his army of men but not without a fight.

Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington) and Joshua Faraday (Chris Pratt)
Magnificent Seven has a western feel which is brought to life by the star cast who have great chemistry with Chris Pratt bringing a bit of comic relief. Peter Sarsgaard also did a great job as the bad guy who you would feel like punching and want to die in a terrible way, which by the way he did.

Billy Rocks (Byung-hun Lee) and Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke)
I must confess, I'm not a fan of western movies and I saw this movie majorly because of Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke (which reminds me of Drama (Kevin Connolly) from Entourage). Overall Antoine Fuqua did a great job with this remake and i enjoyed watching it.
